Can dogs and cats eat Sausage and salami?
DogOnly with care
CatOnly with care
Processed meats like klobása and salami are very salty and fatty and are often seasoned with garlic, onion or paprika.
Why
Salt, fat, garlic/onion seasoning
Signs to watch for
- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- excessive thirst
- painful belly (pancreatitis risk)
Good to know
A small piece is unlikely to be an emergency, but don't make it a habit. Large amounts or garlic-heavy sausages raise the risk of pancreatitis or anaemia (especially in cats).
