DogOnly with care
CatOnly with care
Fir, spruce and pine needles are mildly irritating and sharp, and can cause stomach upset. Tree water may contain fertilisers, preservatives or bacteria.
Why
Tree oils (mild irritants); sharp needles; additives in tree water
Signs to watch for
- vomiting
- drooling
- mouth irritation
- lethargy
Good to know
Cover the tree stand so pets can't drink the water. Tinsel, baubles and lights are bigger hazards (blockages, cuts, electric shock).
